Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui Acquitted of Charges

On December 18, 2012, Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court (ICC) acquitted Mathieu Ngudjolo Chui of war crimes and crimes against humanity. These charges arose out of the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in which the defendant was accused of being the commander of Lendu combatants from Bedu-Ezekereduring that attacked  Bogoro village in the Ituri region of the DRC on February 24, 2003. The Prosecutor is appealing the Trial Chamber's verdict.
